The Feast
Enter the celebration with notes of crackling fire, cypress & citrine, pomegranate and milk & honey.
The Feast candle is about marking the moments and entering in with those who have gone before us. Looking at the feasts helps us see God’s love, presence, pursuit and provision over us through centuries… at first foreshadowing the entrance of Jesus onto the ascent of humanity, and now… holding onto hope of the beauty that is to come as we remember and wait for His return to us and the fulfillment of His Kingdom.
There are symbols and intentional details associated with each of the feasts. I highly recommend a search and study of some of these on your own. This candle, of course, is not all encompassing. And in one sense, what does a candle around the feast even capture? Historically in the Old Testament there was a lot of sacrifice… so this could get weird fast. However, there was also a lot of stopping, remembering, symbolism and thanksgiving. I’ve gathered a few elements I see captured throughout the feasts and the journey of God’s people with Him throughout Scripture. I like having intentional symbols and reminders. This candle and scent simply serves as a tactile element and reminder of a larger story, of which we are still invited to enter in.
The combination of fragrances in this candle, though admittedly a bit unique, are often found to be a favorite of the collection. If you’re curious just how these work together, it’s a bit of a mystery, but often it’s noted something to the effect of… “Wow! I wasn’t sure how these would all come together, but it’s just really, really nice.”
